I joined CVHS in 2003 with the objectives of pursuing lifelong learning and providing community service Having been a patron of the plants sales for many years, I greatly enjoyed the gardens, both alone and with my grandchildren, My learning goals have consistently been fulfilled through the diverse programs and expert guidance offered at our meetings and in the gardens, An added benefit has been the friendships I’ve developed and the camaraderie shared with our wonderful members. As we continue to create new gardens and grow our membership, I look forward to sharing in the leadership of CVHS.

This year, I would like to dedicate the 2025 CVHS Yearbook to the elements that contribute to our thriving gardens.

Mother Earth serves as our foundation. We have enriched her soil with amendments and carefully selected plants to enhance our gardens with fragrance and color, promote pollination, and more. Sunlight is a vital source of energy for all plant life Through photosynthesis, plants absorb energy from sunlight, which is essential for their survival. The leaves of plants act like solar panels, capturing light and converting in into energy. Raindrops, supplemented by sprinklers, provide the necessary water fro growth, Most importantly, it is the loving and skilled hands that tend to our gardens that truly make them flourish.
